Kajaria DUCL Season 2 was organized between 25th Feb.’18 to 17th Apr.’18 at New Delhi.
38 teams from various corporates participated in this much celebrated tournament. An interesting final of this tournament was played on 17th Apr.’18 at Karnil Singh Stadium- New Delhi between Dawa Bazaar & Nippon Toys and Metrotech.
Metrotech won the toss and elected to field. Despite taking wickets at regular intervals, they failed to restrict the pace of opponent team. Batting first, Dawa Bazaar & Nippon Toys started well with Vishesh and Tejasvjeet Singh Gurjal scoring 39 and 14 at fast rate. However, after Tejasvjeet Singh’s dismissal team lost some important wickets in middle overs, which restricted their pace. But stable partnership between Tushar Sharma (25) and Madhav Arora (42) gave them a much needed boost and team managed to end the innings at a good score of 152 runs in 15.5 overs after losing all the wickets. Kunal Raheja and Nitin from Metrotech bowled really well and took 4 and 3 wickets respectively.
While chasing, Metrotech found the going tough as they started to lose wickets from early overs. Saurabh Grover, who came to bat on 4th position made 48 runs off 29 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes gave team score a much needed boost which was followed by Kunal Raheja (26) and Ashish Panjwani (40) scored important runs. Despite trying really well, team fell short of 3 runs and closed their innings at the score of 149 runs with the loss of 8 wickets in 16 overs. Pick of the bowler was Jatin Wadhwani from Dawa Bazaar and Nippon Toys with 2 wickets.
Dawa Bazaar & Nippon Toys won the final of Kajaria DUCL Season 2 by 3 runs against Metrotech.
Vishesh from Dawa Bazaar & Nippon Toys was awarded as the player of the match.
