One of the most celebrated tournaments of Ankleshwar - 6th Dr. B.R. Ambedkar T20 Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 6th Mar.’18 to 14th Apr.’18.
31 teams from different cities participated in the tournament from which, an all-important final was played between Fahad C.C. Ankleshwar and Jimmy CC. Ank on 14th Apr.’18 at ONGC Ground- Ankleshwar.
Fahad C.C. Ankleshwar won the toss and elected to bat. Team started well with opening batsman Nadim Patel scoring 35 runs in 30 balls with 5 boundaries and 1 six. Akram Boni too, who came to bat on 5th position chipped in with important 43 runs off 25 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, team ended up at a decent score of 110 runs in 14 overs after losing all the wickets. Though all the bowlers of Jimmy CC. Ank. did a good job, pick of the bowlers were Ninad Rathwa and Soaeb Tai, who picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively restricting opponent from putting up a big score.
While chasing, Jimmy CC.Ank played a wonderful innings with almost all the players contributing significantly in achieving the target. Opening batsman, Captain Faruk Fule played well and scored 23 off 25 balls gave team a good start. He received good support from the other end in form of Kamran Shaikh, who scored 27 runs at fast rate. Makbool Patel and Ninad Rathwa remained not out at the score of 23 and 34 runs respectively steered team towards the final victory.
Jimmy CC Ank. came up with excellent teamwork and won the final by 7 wickets against Fahad C.C. Ankleshwar in 6th Dr. B.R.Ambedkar T20 Cricket Tournament 2018.
