Al-Safa KPL Kaij (III) 2018 organized by Al-Safa Kain and Shaddu Khatib was played between 28th Mar.’18 to 8th Apr.’18 at Kaij.
10 teams from various verticals participated in this tournament. An all-important final of this much celebrated tournament was held at Panchayat Samiti Kaij on 8th Apr.’18 between Sai Winners and F.C.S.R.K..
F.C.S.R.K. won the toss and elected to field. Decision did not go much in their favour as Sai Winners played at a very good strike rate and made 80 runs in 8 overs losing 5 wickets. Highest scorers were Swapnil Chate and Ajay Misal with 24 and 25 runs respectively. Bowling highlight of the innings was Shahed Pathan, who picked 2 wickets in 2 overs giving 10 runs.
While chasing, F.C.S.R.K. got a very good start with opening batsman Digvijay Patil smashing 44 runs off 22 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes taking team to a strong position. With his outstanding performance, team chased down the target in 7.3 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Hari Sathe from Sai Winners, who scalped 2 wickets in 1 over.
F.C.S.R.K. won the final of Al-Safa KPL Kaij (III) 2018 by 6 wickets against Sai Winners.
