4th JKP Trophy- State Level Cricket Tournament 2018 was played between 30th Mar.’18 to 5th Apr.’18 at Lucknow.
10 teams from various cities participated in this tournament. The crucial final of this tournament was played between Akhil Infra Cricket Club and Meerut District Cricket Association at Ekana International Cricket Stadium- Lucknow.
Meerut District Cricket Association won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Akhil Infra Cricket Club started well with opening batsman Anshul Kapoor scoring 64 runs steadily followed by Anuj Rawat’s fiery 128 off 113 balls with 17 boundaries and 1 six. Team ended up at a decent score of 237 runs at the end of 40 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Pick of the bowler was Prashant Chaudhary, who took 2 wickets in 8 overs.
While replying, Meerut District Cricket Association played a wonderful innings with almost all the players contributing significantly for the final chase. Opening batsman Shivam Chaudhary scored 90 runs off 92 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. Other major contributor was Sandeep Tomar, who made 66 runs in 68 balls and remained not out. Will all the players performing well, team chased down the target in 36.4 overs after losing 5 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Rajendra Bisht from Akhil Infra Cricket Club, who scalped 2 wickets in 8 overs by giving 26 runs only.
