VIT Cricket Tournament 2018 was played between 14th Mar.’18 to 29th Mar.’18 at Vellore.
Held at Outdoor Stadium VIT- Vellore, the crucial final of this tournament was played between ThunderBolts and Vollore Strikers on 29th Mar.’18.
Vellore Strikers won the toss and elected to to field. Proving their decision right, they took wickets from the start . Despite getting a good start from Shubham Saxena, who made 31 off 26 balls, ThunderBolts did not manage to score well against the strong bowling attack by Vellore Strikers. Remaining players did not manage to go beyond 10’s and team collapsed making 83 runs in 14.2 overs. Anshuman Singh from Vellore Strikers bowled extremely well as he took 4 wickets in 4 overs by giving only 10 runs damaging the batting line up of ThunderBolts badly.
While chasing, Vellore Strikers too started to lose wickets from early overs. However, Anshuman Singh’s outstanding innings of 53 runs in 41 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six, helped team reaching to target easily. Team chased down target in 13.3 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Fuzail from ThunderBolts, who took 1 wickets in 2 overs by giving 9 runs.
Vellore Strikers won the final of VIT Cricket Tournament 2018 by 4 wickets against ThunderBolts.
