Medicos Premier League 2018 was played between 23rd Mar.’18 to 27th Mar.’18 at Ahmedabad.
Out of the 17 participant teams, the crucial final was played between BJ 2nd and LG 11 on 27th Mar.’18 at BJ Medical Ground- Ahmedabad.
BJ 2nd won the toss and elected to bat. Team played an excellent innings with all the players contributing significantly. Opening batsmen Rootvik Chaudhari and Bhargav Koyani gave team a wonderful start as they scored 61 and 25 runs respectively at fast pace. Captain Utkarsh Patel too played a good innings and added 24 runs off 16 balls followed by Dharmesh, who made 22 runs in 11 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Team ended up at a good score of 162 runs in 16 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Naman Patel from LG 11 with 2 wickets.
While chasing, it was not a smooth sailing for LG 11 as they lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Dr. Sachin Dudhrejiya, who came to bat at 3rd position gave team a much needed boost by scoring 76 runs in 46 balls with 2 fours and 8 sixes. Naman Patel too chipped in with important 32 runs in crucial overs, which helped team achieve the target. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, LG 11 chased down the target in in 15 overs after losing 6 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Raj Panchotiya from BJ 2ndm who took 2 wickets in 2 overs.
LG 11 won the final of Medicos Premier League 2017 by 4 wickets against BJ 2nd.
