TCS T20 Championship 2017-18 was organized by Tata Consultancy Services Limited- Gandhinagar between 4th Nov.’17 to 18th Mar.’18.
45 teams from various departments of TCS participated in this much celebrated tournament. An all-important final of this tournament was played between ROW and Challengers on 18th Mar.’18 at GEB Ground Gandhinagar.
ROW won the toss and elected to bat. Team started well with Dharmesh scoring 57 runs off 58 balls with 6 boundaries. However, remaining players did not manage to score freely and wickets fell in quick succession after Dharmesh’s dismissal. Team closed at a reasonable score of 121 runs in 20 overs after losing all the wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Monang Shah from Challengers, who took 3 wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, Challengers failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Monang Shah, who came to bat on 4th position played well as he added 49 off 33 balls with 7 boundaries and 1 six. Pranay Gupta too played a good innings and scored 21 runs at good pace. Bowlers of ROW tried really well and succeeded in taking wickets at regular intervals restricting Challengers from reaching at the target easily. It was an interesting match till the end, where Challengers managed to score of 125 runs in 18.4 overs by losing 9 wickets.
