J.S.P.L. Open Night Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 20th Feb.’18 to 25th Mar.’18 at Gandhinagar.
57 teams from different verticals participated in this tournament, from which the 2 finalist teams were Sai Baba XI and RD Rockers.
An all-important final of this much celebrated tournament was played on 25th Mar.’18 at J S Patel Cricket Club- Gandhinagar. RD Rockers won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, team managed to take wickets at regular intervals restricting Sai Baba XI from scoring well. However, players of Saibaba XI scored at a good pace and put up a decent score of 97 runs at the end of 12 overs by losing 7 wickets. Major contributors were Yuvrajsinh and Saumil Patel, who scored 33 and 21 runs respectively. Pick of the bowlers was Alkesh Patni from RD Rockers, who took 3 wickets in 3 overs.
While replying, RD Rockers started well with Devang Khatri and Satyaveer Chauhan scoring 20 and 19 runs respectively at fast rate. However, remaining players failed to score at required pace and team started to lose wickets in quick succession. Bowlers of Sai Baba XI did a good job and RD Rockers had to struggle till the last over to reach to the target. Team reached to the score of 101 runs at the end of 12 overs after losing 8 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Suraj Badhoriya from Sai Baba XI, who scalped 4 wickets in 3 overs.
