CBIT Premier League 2018 was played between 8th Mar.’18 to 14th Mar.’18 at Prodattur.
9 teams from various sections of CBIT participated in this tournament. The all-important final of this much celebrated tournament was played on 14th Mar.’18 at BCIT & VBIT Ground- Prodattur between EEE Sparkers and Mechanical Warriors.
EEE Sparkers won the toss and elected to bat. Team failed to get a good start as they lost some important wickets in early overs. Despite of losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to close at a moderate score of 118 runs in 15 overs by losing 7 wickets. Highest scorers were T.Mallikarjuna Reddy and N. Irfan, who scored 16 runs each at good pace. Pick of the bowlers was P. Viswanath Readdy from Mechanical Warriors, who took 2 wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, Mechanical Warriors started well with opening batsman C. Sivakrishna scoring 25 runs off 18 balls with 2 boundaries and 1 six. G.Pavan Kumar Reddy and P. Viswanath Reddy too played good innings and added 27 and 20 runs respectively at good rate. Despite trying really well, Mechanical Warriors did not manage to score at required pace and ended up scoring 106 runs in 15 overs after losing all the wickets. The main reason behind early collapse of the team was Aneesh Madhu from EEE Sparkers, who took 4 important wickets during crucial overs restricting Mechanical Warriors from reaching at the target.
EEE Sparkers won the final of CBIT Premier League 2018 by 12 runs against Mechanical Warriors.
