One of the heavily followed tournaments - Jain Diamond Premier League-2018 was organized between 4th Mar.’18 to 11th Mar.’18 at Surat.
Out of the 16 participant teams, the crucial final of this tournament was played between Navkaran XI and Google XI on 11th Mar.’18 at Lalbhai Stadium- Party Plot Surat.
Navkaran XI won the toss and elected to bat. Opening batsman Adit gave team a good start as he scored 31 runs in 19 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. However, remaining players did not manage to stay on crease for long and team started to lose wickets at regular intervals. Viken J Shah played well as he added 30 runs in just 10 balls giving much needed boost to the final score. Team ended up scoring 123 runs in 10 overs by losing all the wickets. Dipesh Adani from Google XI bowled extremely well and took 4 wickets in 4 overs restricting the opponent from putting up a big score.
While chasing, Google XI did not get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. Chaitya Shah, who came on 3rd position to bat made 20 runs at a good pace helped team gave a good fight. Other players, who managed to score well were Shah Raj and Shalin Desai with 30 and 21 runs respectively. Despite trying really well, team fell short of 5 runs for winning the final. Adit from Navkaran XI bowled exceptionally well and took 4 important wickets during crucial overs helped his team won the final. Google XI ended up scoring 118 runs at the end of 14 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.
Navkaran XI won the final by 5 runs against Google XI in Jain Diamond Premier League -2018.
