New Young Star Cricket Club Cricket League 2017 was organized between 11th Nov.’17 to 11h Mar.’18 at Ankleshwar.
44 teams from various verticals participated in this much celebrated tournament. An all-important final of this tournament was played on 11th Mar.’18 at Kharod Cricket Ground- Ankleshwar between KGN Tankaria C C and Kharod C C (A).
KGN Tankaria C C won the toss and elected to bat. Team started well with Afzal Khandhya scoring 29 runs in 20 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to put up a decent score of 142 runs in 20 overs after losing all wickets. Highest scorer was Naeem Madhi, who made 48 runs off 32 balls. Bowling highlight of the innings was Saffu Motala from Kharod C C (A), who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, Kharod C C (A) started extremely well as both the opening batsmen Azaz Bhaiyat and Saffu Motala were in good form as they scored 60 and 51 runs at good rate. Team chased down the target in 18.4 overs with the loss of 2 wickets.
