Shree Vidhyanagar High School (SVHS) were crowned champions of Diwan Ballubhai (U/19) Multi Day School Tournament after they beat St.Kabir School at Motera B on Thursday. Winning the toss St Kabir decided to bat first and posted a decent 227 runs in 109 overs. Shekhar Singh top scored with 88 runs of 196 balls and was well supported by Yash Joshi who scored 47 of 112 balls.
Priyesh Thakor and Yash Joshi picked up four wickets apiece for SVHS In their first innings SVHS posted a mammoth 341 runs in 146.1 overs, thanks to scintillating performances by Het Patel who scored 77 of 142 balls, Preet Shah who scored 72 of 112 balls and Smit Patel who scored 54 of 272 balls.
Yash Rajpuriya picked up 4 for 90 and Manan Hingrajia picked up 3 for 65 as SVHS piled on a lead of 114 runs in the first innings. St Kabir batters only had 20 overs in hand at the end of third day as they managed to post 96 for 1, with Manan Hingrajiya scoring an unbeaten 52 of 57 deliveries. Even as the match was drawn the victory was awarded to SVHS as they had posted a first innings lead and were declared the champions of Diwan Ballubhai School Tournament .
