Shree Himmatlal Aacharya Memorial Day-Night Cricket Tournament 2017 was organized by Shree Delhi Gujarati Samaj between 6th Nov.’17 to 27th Feb.’18 at Delhi.
17 teams from various verticals participated in this tournament. The crucial final of this tournament was played between Rani Bagh-XI and Ragubir Nagar Devipujak Team on 27th Feb.’18 at Baprola Cricket Ground- Delhi.
Ragubir Nagar Devipujak Team won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Rani Bagh-XI started well with both the opening batsman Rahul and Hansraj scoring 25 and 40 runs respectively at fast rate. However, remaining players did not manage to maintain the pace and wickets fell in quick succession. Team ended up scoring 140 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Vinod from Ragubir Nagar Devipujak Team bowled really well and took 3 wickets in 3 overs giving 12 runs.
While chasing, Ragubir Nagar Devipujak played a very good innings and chased down the target in 17.4 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Vinod was in excellent form as he smashed 63 runs off 35 balls with 11 boundaries and 1 six. Kamal too played a good innings and remained not out at 39 off 24 balls. Team reached at the score of 141 runs in 17.4 overs with 3 wickets in hand.
