DBS Premier League 2018 was played between 24th Feb.’18 to 26th Feb.’18 at Chennai.
Out of the 4 participant teams, the final was played between DBS Southern Strikers and Mumbai Fort Fighters on 26th Feb.’18 at Cheaupak Stadium- Chennai.
DBS Southern Strikers won the toss and elected to bat. Team did not manage to put up a good show as wickets started to fall from early overs and most of the players scored in single digits. Prasenjeet and Somu were the only players who managed to contribute significantly with 37 and 41 runs respectively. Since team went of losing wickets at regular intervals, DBS Southern Strikers ended up scoring 106 runs in 25 overs after losing 8 wickets. Amit Bhatt from Mumbai Fort Fighters was pick of the bowlers as he scalped 4 wickets in 5 overs restricting the opponent team at a low score. Sushant Shetty also bowled really well as he gave only 7 runs in 5 overs, which affected the run-flow of DBS Southern Strikers badly.
While chasing, despite facing some early blows Mumbai Fort Fighters chased down the target in 22 overs by losing 4 wickets. Akash Parmar was the major contributor, who scored 34 runs off 42 balls with 5 boundaries and remained not out. Sitanshu Kumar too played well and added 29 runs in 41 balls. Pick of the bowlers was Narayanswamy Iyer from DBS Southern Strikers with 2 wickets.
Mumbai Fort Fighters won the final by 6 wickets against DBS Southern Strikers in DBS Premier League 2018.
