12th Cummins Cricket Cup 2018 was organized between 22nd Feb.’18 and 24th Feb.’18 at Indore.
6 teams from various cities participated in this tournament. The crucial final of this much celebrated tournament was played between Trident Pune and Deccan Vadodara on 24th Feb.’18 at SS Cricket Commune Sanawadia - Indore.
Trident Pune won the toss and elected to bat. Team started extremely well with opening batsman Nikhilesh Hiwarkar smashing 101 runs in just 40 balls with 2 fours and 14 sixes. Vibhav Singh too played well and added 30 runs in 24 balls. Team closed at 142 runs in 12 overs with the loss of 2 wickets.
While replying, Deccan Vadodara didn’t start well and started to lose wickets from early overs. Jaydeep Chauhan, who came on 6th position for batting, played an excellent innings and gave much needed boost to the score. He scored 70 runs in 28 balls with 4 boundaries and 8 sixes. However, remaining players failed to score freely against the effective bowling by Trident Pune. Nabin Muduli from Trident Pune bowled extremely well as he took 4 wickets in 3 overs restricting the pace Despite trying really well, Deccan Vadodara fell short of 6 runs from reaching to the target. Team ended up at 136 runs in 12 overs by losing 7 wickets.
Trident Pune won the final by 6 runs against Deccan Vadodara in 12th Cummins Cricket Cup 2018.
