SSBT’s Sports Week 2k18 was organized between 18th Feb.’18 to 22nd Feb.’18 at Jalgaon.
18 teams of different departments participated in this tournament. The final of this much cherished tournament was held on 22nd Feb.’18 at SSBT College Ground- Jalgaon between Civil Intimidators and Mechanical’s Warrior.
Civil Intimidators won the toss and elected to bat. Team failed to get a good start and lost its first 2 wickets in the very first over of their innings. However, Jayesh Khandelwal, who came to bat on 3rd position did a quick recovery by hitting 44 runs in 39 balls with 6 boundaries and 1 six gave team a much needed boost to the final score. Despite trying well, none of the remaining players managed to stay on crease for long and team ended up scoring 94 runs at the end of 14 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Sham Girase from Mechanical’s Warrior with 2 wickets.
While replying, Mechanical’s Warrior too lost some important wickets in early overs. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to maintain the pace and chased down the target in 13.5 overs by losing 7 wickets. Major contribution came from Ashwin Jaiswal, who made 48 runs in 37 balls. Sagar Koli’s unbeaten 25 runs in 11 balls also helped team reach to the target easily.
Mechanical’s Warrior won the final by 3 wickets against Civil Intimidators in SSBT’s Sports Week 2k18.
