Al Naba Cricket Tournament (OMAN) 2018 was organized by Al Naba Sports Committee- Mustcat between 27th Jan.’18 to 9th Feb.’18.
Out of the 12 participant teams, the final was played between Sohar Royals (Sohar) and Netaji Boys (Misfah) on 9th Feb.’18 at Al Naba Misfah Ground- Muscat.
Sohar Royals (Sohar) won the toss and elected to bat. Team played a very good innings with almost all the players contributing significantly for the final score. Major contributors were Pradeep Gurao and Veeramani Jeyavel, who scored 28 and 22 runs at fast pace. With all the players scoring well, team managed to close at a good score of 113 runs at the end of 8 overs by losing 5 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Honestraj Mathiyas from Netaji Boys (Misfah) with 2 wickets.
While chasing, Netaji Boys (Misfah) too started really well with both the opening batsmen Ilam Parithi and Honeshraj Mathiyas scoring 16 and 39 runs respectively at fast rate. Mahesh Hanmanthu too p layed a good innings and added 22 runs off 13 balls with 3 sixes. However, team lost wickets at regular intervals slowing down their pace and Netaji Boys was at 103 runs at the end of 8 overs with the loss of 5 wickets.
Sohar Boys (Sohar) won the final of Al Naba Cricket Tournament by 10 runs against Netaji Boys (Misfah).
