BEC 3rd Years Cricket Tourney was played between 5th Feb.’18 to 12th Feb.’18 at Bapatla.
Out of the 8 participant teams, the crucial final was played between BEC Royal Civil and BEC CSE on 12th Feb.’18 at Bapatla Engineering College- Bapatla.
BEC CSE won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they restricted BEC Royal Civil at a low score of 53 runs in 12 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. None of the players managed to score significantly for the final score. Highest score was 12 runs made by Shiva and Bharat L. All the bowlers of BEC CSE did a good job led by Lakshman, who took 3 wickets in 2 overs. Sai Krishna also bowled really well as he took 2 wickets in 2 overs by giving only 3 runs.
While chasing, despite having a low target, BEC CSE struggled till the last over. After poor batting performance BEC Royal Civil did a good come back with strong bowling attack. None of players from BEC CSE were able to stay for long on crease and wickets started to fall from early overs. The fight continued till the last over, where in Riswanth and Sai Krishna played well and scored 15 runs each at fast rate. This helped team reached at the target of 54 runs in 11.5 overs by losing 9 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings were Vinay and D Kishore with 2 wickets each.
