Shree Umiya Cup 2018 was played between 8th Feb.’18 to 11th Feb.’18 at Dombivali- Mumbai.
52 teams from various verticals participated in this much celebrated tournament. The crucial final of this tournament was held at MIDC Cricket Ground-Dombivali on 11th Feb.’18 between Badlapur Boys and Yuva XI.
Yuva XI won the toss and elected to field. It didn’t prove to be a good decision for them as batting first, Badlapur Boys played an excellent innings and scored 118 runs in 8 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Outstanding partnership between Hemand Dholu and Paresh Dholu, who scored 49 and 43 runs at fast rate helped team reaching at a big score. Pick of the bowlers was Hasmukh Sankhala from Yuva XI with 2 wickets.
While chasing, Yuva XI started to fumble from early overs. Team went on losing wickets from very first ball of the innings and bundled up scoring 56 runs in 8 overs by losing 8 wickets. None of the players managed to score significantly for the final chase. Highest scorer was Kalpesh Bhimani with 16 runs. All the bowlers of Badlapur Boys did a good job led by Gaurang Sankhala, who took 3 wickets in 2 overs.
