Lasalgaon Gymkhana Trophy 2018 was played between 21st Jan.’18 to 8th Feb.’18 at Lasalgaon.
28 teams from various cities participated in this tournament. The crucial final of this tournament was held at Late Sitamai Panghvane Stadium- Lasalgaon on 8th Feb.’18 between Nerul Gymkhana and H.AL. Boys.
Nerul Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat. Team started well with opening batsman Rudya Dhanday scoring 34 runs in 25 balls with 5 boundaries. However, team lost wickets at regular intervals, which resulted in slow pace and Nerul Gymkhana ended up scoring 107 runs in 17.2 overs after losing all the wickets. Tushar Indrikar from H.A.L Boys did an impressive job with bowl and took 4 wickets in 3.2 overs restricting opponent from scoring freely.
While chasing, despite getting a poor start, H.A.L Boys managed to chased down the target in 18.2 overswith the loss of 5 wickets. Akshay Kulkarni was the highest scorer with 27 runs, where in Vinay Bambare shown some wonderful batting skills and made 24 runs off 16 balls taking their team straight towards the final win.
