Ahmedabad City Police came out with a dominating batting display as they edged out Bharat CC (BCC) by virtue of the first innings lead in Reliance Foundation Major Tournament at Motera ‘B’. Electing to bat, Jaikishan Parwani top scored with a sedate 125-ball 57 but BCC did well to post a competitive 301 in the first innings. Dharam Chandora (143-ball 43) and Hiten Mahera (73-ball 41) too chipped in with useful runs. For policemen, Vijay Desai (in photo) was the pick of the lot with four wickets. Deepak Pal then led the chase with 303-ball 161 while Dev Vacheta too chipped in with 296-ball 132 as City Police posted 330 to take the deciding 29-run first innings lead. For BCC, Sneh Shah took four wickets while Dharam chipped in with three wickets. With the fate of the match already decided, BCC decided to bat out the remaining time to post 129 for one in the second innings. Raj Majethia top scored with an unbeaten 73 from 115 balls while Rahul Ahuja remained not out on 32 from 68 balls.
