Reliance Foundation Inter School Tournament 2017 was organized by Central Board Of Cricket Ahmedabad between 27th Sep.’18 to 6th Feb.’18 at Ahmedabad.
19 teams from various schools participated in this much loved tournament, from which the 2 finalist teams were - Nirman High School (U-19) and Mangaldeep Vidyalaya (U-19).
Held at C.N. Vidyalay, the crucial final was played on 5th and 6th Feb.’18, where in Mangaldeep Vidyalaya (U-19) won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, team succeeded in restricting Nirman High School at a low score in their first innings. None of the players managed to score beyond 10’s and team collapse making 49 runs after losing all wickets. All the bowlers of Mangaldeep Vidyalaya did a good job but the pick of the bowlers was Yugma Acharya, who took 3 wickets in 4.3 overs giving only 6 runs.
While replying, Mangaldeep Vidyalaya too started to lose wickets from early overs. Team ended up scoring 88 runs at the end of the innings. Highest scorers were Haresh Patel and Nitesh jain with 18 runs each. Deepansh Chauhan from Nirman High School bowled exceptionally well as he took 9 wickets in 18.3 overs wrecking the batting line up of Mangaldeep Vidyalaya completely.
With the trail of 39 runs, Nirman High School started well with both opening batsman Maan Bhavsar (17) and Priyam Patel (38) adding to the score steadily. Team did lost some important wickets in initial overs but strong partnership between Dhairya Patel and Viraj, who scored 60 and 40 runs respectively, helped team reaching at a good score. Nirman High School declared the innings at 194 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Nitesh jain from Mangaldeep Vidyalaya with 4 wickets.
While chasing the target, Mangaldeep Vidyalaya played a strong innings with almost all the players contributing significantly for the final score.Kaushal and Vraj Patel were the highest contributors with 43 and 28 runs respectively. Team chased down the target of 156 runs with the loss of 5 wickets. Deepansh Chauhan and Harsh Trivedi from Nirman High school bowled well and took 2 wickets each.
Mangaldeep Vidyalaya won the final of Reliance Foundation Inter School Tournament (Multiday) 2017 by 5 wickets against Nirman High School.
