The 1st National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized on 2nd and 3rd Feb.’18 by Divyang Mythri Sports Academy- Bengaluru, which gives platform to Para-Sportsmen in India.

3 teams from Karnataka, Kanyakumari and Chennai participated in the D Group of this unique cricket tournament, where in most of the players have represented India in Wheelchair Sports.

The final of D group of this tournament was held at Kittur Rani Chennama Ground-Bengaluru on 3rd Feb.’18 between Kumari Kingzz and Karnataka Wheelchair Cricket Team.

Kumari Kingzz won the toss and elected to bat. Team made 48 runs in 8 overs with the loss of 8 wickets, where in highest contributor was Balson who scored 11 runs with 2 boundaries. Bowlers of Karnataka Wheelchair Cricket Team gave wonderful performance led by Shivprasad Magadi, who took 4 wickets in 2 overs.

While chasing, Karnataka Wheelchair Cricket Team started well with opening batsman Sagar scoring 16 runs in 15 balls with 2 boundaries. Team managed to chase down the target in just 5.3 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Jeyan Alt, who took 2 wickets in 4 overs.

Karnataka Wheelchair Cricket Team won the match by 6 wickets against Kumari Kingzz.

Shivaprasad Magadi from Karnataka Wheelchair Cricket Team was awarded as the player of the match.
