Central Bank of India came out with a dominating batting display — backed by a disciplined effort from the bowlers — as they edged out Ahmedabad City Police by virtue of the first innings lead in Reliance Foundation Major Tournament. At Motera ‘C’, Tarang Chhatrola led the charge with 119-ball 107 as Central Bank posted a mammoth 445 after electing to bat first. Karan Patel (63-ball 80), Rushi Panchal (105-ball 58), Aasav Panchal (73-ball 51) and Darshil Patel (80-ball 51) too chipped in with useful halfcenturies as bankmen made merry of the rival bowlers. For City Police, Mahendra Thakore took three wickets while Mitesh Ode picked up two wickets. Ruturaj Desai then took four wickets while Aasav picked up three more as Central Bank bowlers complimented their batsmen by dominating the rivals. Rakesh Yadav top scored with 96-ball 51while Mitesh Ode remained unconquered with 40-ball 41as Policemen managed to post 162 while conceding the deciding first innings lead. Bankmen posted 79 for no loss in the second essay before the end of play.
