Himalay Barad and Prathamesh Parmar scored centuries as Mahavir CC (MCC) came out with a dominant batting display to edge out Bharat CC (BCC) by virtue of the first innings lead in Reliance Foundation Major Tournament. At Motera ‘B’, Jaikishan Parwani hit a painstakingly slow 202-ball 84 as BCC posted 207 in the first essay. For MCC, Pranjal Sutaria took four wickets. Himalay then led the charge with 135-ball 123 while Prathamesh chipped in with 143-ball 107 as MCC posted a mammoth 429 in the first innings. Krutik Patel too chipped in with 76 from 94 balls as MCC took the deciding first innings lead. For BCC, Jignesh Rathod and Rahul Ahuja took three wickets each. Falling 222 runs behind, BCC posted 233 for five in the second innings before the end of the play. Jaikishan’s unbeaten 237-ball 125 ensured they didn’t suffer an innings defeat while Nazeeb Saiyed added 87 from 150 balls. For the winners, Ansh Patel took three wickets.
