One of the most celebrated tournaments- Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial Corporate Tournament 2017-18 was organized by Reliance Industries Limited between 28th Dec.’17 to 31st Jan.’18 at Dahej.
20 teams from various corporates participated in this tournament. The crucial final of this tournament was played on 31st Jan.’18 at Reliance Saraswati Cricket Ground- Dahej between Reliance Industries Ltd. and Filatex India Limited.
Reliance Industries won the toss and elected to bat. Ketan Desai started well as he smashed 43 runs in 35 balls with 6 boundaries. Team played a good innings with all the players scoring at a good pace. Reliance Industries scored 157 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Vishnu Vanza from Filatex India Limited with 2 wickets.
While chasing, Filatex India Limited got a good start with opening batsman Husain Malek scoring 44 runs in 21 balls with 7 sixes. However, team lost some important wickets during middle overs but strong innings from remaining players helped team to chase down the target in 16.1 overs after losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Virendra Raj from Reliance Industries, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs.
Filatex India Limited won the final of Dhirubhai Ambai Memorial Corporate Tournament 2017-18 by 3 wickets against Reliance Industries.
Vishnu Vanza from Filatex India Limited was awarded as the player of the match.
