Sakal School Cricket League 18 was organized between 14th Jan.’18 to 22nd Jan.’18 at Satara.
8 teams from various schools of Satara participated in this tournament. The final of this much cherished tournament was played between Gurukul School XI and Nirmala Convent School on 22nd Jan.’18 at Chhatrapati Shahu District Sports Complex - Satara.
Gurukul School XI won the toss and elected to bat. Team started well with opening batsman Yash Amondikar scoring 28 runs in 38 balls. Strong partnership between him and Arya Shah (55) helped team reaching at a good score of 184 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 4 wickets.
While replying, Nirmala Convent School got a very good start with Jaid R. Shaikh scoring 60 runs in 64 balls. However, he failed to get support from the other end and team went on losing wickets at regular intervals. None of the remaining players scored beyond 10’s and they ended up scoring 123 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Zaid Mulla from Gurukul School XI, who took 2 wickets in 3 overs.
Gurukul School XI won the final of Sakal School Cricket League 18 by 25 runs against Nirmala Convent School.
