18th All India ICA Cup 2018 was organized by ITCF between 15th Jan.’18 to 23rd Jan.’18 at Vizianagaram.
12 teams from various cities participated in this tournament. Held at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Vizianagaram, the crucial final of this tournament was between Vizag (ITCF) and Tamilnadu (ITCF) on 23rd Jan.’18.
Vizag (ITCF) won the toss and elected to bat. Proving their decision right, team played a good innings and scored 160 runs in 19.1 overs after losing all the wickets. Major contribution came from Mahesh and Annabathula Pavansai, who made 40 and 57 runs respectively at fast pace. Prabhakaran from Tamilnadu (ITCF) was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 wickets in 3 overs.
While chasing, Tamilnadu (ITCF) did not get a very good start as team started to lose wickets from early overs. None of the players scored significantly for the final chase. Highest scorer was C.B. Balaji, who scored 29 runs in 21 ball with 5 boundaries. Team went on losing wickets at regular intervals and they failed to score at required pace. V.Prashanth from Vizag (ITCF) was one of the main reasons for Tamilnadu (ITCF)’s early collapse as he scalped 4 important wickets in 4 overs by giving only 14 runs hampering their performance badly. Team ended up scoring 128 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 9 wickets.
Vizag (ITCF) won the final by 32 runs against Tamilnadu (ITCF) in 18th All India ICA T20 Cup 2018.
