PWD Cultural and Sports Club Tournament was organized between 16th Jan.’18 to 21st Jan.’18 at Nashik.
24 teams of PWD from different cities participated in this tournament. Held at Golf Ground- Nashik, the final of this much celebrated tournament was played between PWD Thane A and PWD Nagpur on 21st Jan.’18.
PWD Nagpur won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, PWD Thane A played a wonderful innings and made 145 runs at the end of 20 overs after losing 6 wickets. Highest contributor was Anant Shelar, who scored 26 runs in 26 balls with 4 boundaries. Lokesh from PWD Nagpur was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.
While replying, PWD Nagpur got an excellent start with both the opening batsmen scoring at fast pace. Ganesh Choubey was on fire as he smashed 73 runs in 50 balls with 10 fours and 1 six. This helped PWD Nagpur achieve the target in just 16.3 overs with the loss of 2 wickets. Rahul Thakur too played well as he scored unbeaten 30 off 11 balls.
PWD Nagpur won the final by 8 wickets against PWD Thane A.
Ganesh Choubey from PWD Nagpur was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding performance.
