The most celebrated tournament of Bardoli -J.D. Cup 2018 was organized by Syadla Gam Parivar between 1st Jan.’18 to 18th Jan.’18.
Out of the 12 participant teams, the final of J.D. Cup 2018 was played between Team Tarsadi and Team Orna on 18th Jan.’18 at ENA Cricket Club-Bardoli.
Team Tarsadi won the toss and elected to bat. Team did not get a very good start as wickets started to fall from early overs. However, despite losing wickets at regular intervals team managed to close the innings at a reasonable score of 121 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Captain Niranjan Bhakta was the highest scorer with 26 runs. Hardik from Team Orna was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, Team Orna too faced some early blows in the form of opening batsmen Anand Mahant and Nikesh Bhakta. However, the strong partnership between Dixit and Hardik, who added 33 and 27 runs respectively helped team in chasing down the target in 19.1 overs after losing 5 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Kalpesh Patel from Team Tarsadi, who took 2 wickets in 4 overs.
Team Orna won the final by 5 wickets against Team Tarsadi.
Hardik from Team Orna was awarded as the player of the match.
