One of the most celebrated tournaments of Ahmedabad- GIHED Premier League Season 8 was organized between 2nd Jan.’18 to 16th Jan.’18.
Out of the 8 participant teams- representing various real estate companies in Ahmedabad, the final was played between Ganesh Lions and Avirat Avengers on 16th Jan.’18 at Rajpath Club Ground, Ahmedabad.
Ganesh Lions won the toss and elected to bat. Parth Shah gave team a very good opening at he smashed 58 runs in 21 balls with 1 boundary and 8 sixes. Mohit Shah too played a very good innings and added 44 runs in 24 balls. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to put up a good score of 166 runs in 19.2 overs after losing all the wickets. Sachin Parmar from Avirat Avengers bowled exceptionally well as he took 4 wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, Avirat Avengers did not get a very good start as they lost some important wickets in first few overs. Players were not able to score freely against the strong bowling attack by Ganesh Lions. None of the players managed to go beyond 20’s and team collapsed making 98 runs in 16.4 overs after losing all wickets. Alkesh Patel was the highest scorer, who made 29 runs in 17 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six. Though all the bowlers of Ganesh Lions did a good job, pick of the bowlers was Sachin Patel, who took 2 wickets in 3.4 overs by giving only 9 runs.
Strong batting line up and effective bowling helped Ganesh Lions won the final of GIHED Premier League Season 8 by 68 runs against Avirat Avengers.
Parth Shah from Ganesh Lions was awarded as a player of the match.
