KSSB-Baba Fareed (RA) Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 9th Jan.’18 to 16th Jan.’18 at Adoni.
Out of the 12 participant teams, the final was played between DTDC Bengaluru and Star 11 Gunthakal on 16th Jan.’18 at Arts College Ground, Adoni.
Star 11 Gunthakal won the toss and elected to field. Decision did not go well for the team as DTDC Bengaluru started to score at a good pace from the beginning. Opening batsman Nihal U. scored 36 runs in 27 ball with 7 boundaries. Team did loss some important wickets in middle overs but Ritesh Batkal and Nikith managed to maintain the pace and added 30 runs each. Team ended up scoring 158 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Ramesh and Abu from Star 11 Gunthakal bowled well as they they took 2 wickets each.
While replying, Star 11 Gunthakal failed to score freely against the strong bowling attack by DTDC Bengaluru and started to lose wickets from early overs. None of the players managed to stand for long and team bundled up scoring 78 runs in 17.1 overs. Highest scorer was Sreekanth Reddy with 22 runs. Almost all the bowlers of DTDC Bengaluru did a good job but bowling highlight of the innings was M.Shoiab, who took 2 wickets in 4 overs by giving only 11 runs.
DTDC Bengaluru won the final with the huge margin of 80 runs against Star 11 Gunthakal.
Player of the match was Ritesh Batkal from DTDC Bengaluru.
