Balasaheb Thackeray Chashak Tournament was organized between 6th Jan.’18 to 14th Jan.’18 at Parbhani.
18 teams from various cities of Maharashtra participated in this tournament. The final of this most cherished tournament was held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Parbhani on 14th Jan.’18 between Tulsi Cricket Academy and BM Beed.
Tulsi Cricket Academy won the toss and elected to bat. Team failed to get a good start as wickets started to fall from the very first ball of the innings. However, players like Shubham Harkal, Ashish Suryavashi and Navnath Lokhande managed to score at a good pace, which helped team close their innings at a decent score of 112 runs in 18.3 overs after losing all wickets. Leading batsman was Shubham Harkal, who made 31 runs in 26 balls. Though all the bowlers of BM Beed did a good job, the show stealer was Pravin Kshirsagar, who took 4 wickets in 4 overs by giving only 13 runs.
While replying, BM Beed started well with both the opening batsmen Sunil Gopishetty (22) and Niraj Shimre (16) scoring at a good pace. Team displyed a strong batting line up and chased down the target of 113 runs in 15.5 overs by losing 3 wickets. Javed Shaikh was the highest scorer, who made 35 runs in 29 balls and remained not out.
BM Beed won the final of Balasaheb Thackeray Chashak tournament by 7 wickets against Tulsi Cricket Academy.
Pravin Kshirsagar from BM Beed was awarded as the player of the match.
