An interesting match played between A.N.U. Guntur and J N T U Kakinada in South Zone Inter University Men Tournament 2017-18 at MVGR College Ground-Vizianagaram on 9th Jan.’ 18.
A.N.U Guntur Won the toss and elected to bat. Decision did not go much in favour as team started to losing wickets from early overs. However, partnership between L. Kevin (25) and Surendra Krishna (45) gave much needed boost to the score and team managed to end their innings at a reasonable score of 114 runs at the end of 22 overs after losing 9 wickets. Though all the bowlers of J N T U Kakinada did a good job, the pick of the bowlers was Eswar.G with 3 wickets.
While replying, J N T U Kakinada failed to get a good start against the strong bowling attack from A.N.U Guntur. However, team gave a very good fight till the last over but ended up losing the match by just 4 runs. Thummal D and V Ujjawal were the highest scorers with 31 and 25 runs respectively. Shabhu Akhil from A. N. U Guntur bowled exceptionally well as he took 5 important wickets in 5 overs restricting opponent team from achieving the target. J N T U Kakinada scored 110 runs in 21.3 overs by losing all the wickets.
A.N.U Guntur won the match by 4 runs against J N T U Kakinada.
