NDCA Monsoon U-19 League was organized between 14th Sep.’ 18 to 8th Jan.’ 18 at Nashik.
Out of 16 participant teams, the final of this much loved tournament was played between Ekta U19 and Star Cricket Academy U19 at Mahatma Nagar Cricket Ground- Nashik on 8th and 9th Jan.’ 18.
Ekta U19 won the toss and elected to bat. Team failed to get a good start as wickets started to fall from early overs. No one except Pandey Aditya managed to score well for the first innings. With Pandey Aditya’s stable 50, team managed to reach to the score of 105 runs at the end of the innings after losing all the wickets. Parth Gaikwad from Star Cricket Academy U19 was the main reason behind the early collapse of Ekta U19 as he took 8 wickets in 17.2 overs by giving only 36 runs.
On the other hand, Star Cricket Academy U19 played an excellent inning with Gaikhe Om scoring 117 runs in 110 balls. Almost all the player contributed well and team ended up scoring 223 runs at the end of their first innings.
With the trail of 118 runs, Ekta U19 started well with Pandey Aditya adding 40 runs steadily. However, he failed to get required support from the other side as team went on losing the wickets at regular intervals. Kalwande Shrikant and Aryan Chavan were the other two played who managed to score in double digits. Parth Gaikwad from Star Cricket Academy struck again as he took 5 wickets in 11.5 overs restricting Ekta U19 from achieving the target. Team ended at the score of 122 runs after losing all the wickets.
Star Cricket Academy U19, which already had a lead of 118 runs from first innings scored 8 runs with no loss and won the final of NDCA’s Monsoon U-19 League 2017-18 by 10 wickets.
