Memon Premier League was organized between 2nd Jan.’ 18 to 6th Jan.’ 18 at Surat.
Out of the 13 participant teams, the final of this much cherished tournament was played between Mumbai Lions and Dissotto Dynamites at Vaali Baa Sports Ground- Surat on 6th Jan.’ 17.
Dissotto Dynamites won the toss and elected to field. Decision did not go well in their favour as opening batsmen Farhan Attari and Ramiz Darvesh from Mumbai Lions played an excellent innings and scored at a very good pace. Ramesh Darvesh was on fire as he smashed 93 runs in 65 balls with 12 boundaries and 2 sixes. Mumbai Lions ended up at a good score of 161 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 4 wickets.
While chasing, Dissotto Dynamites too played really well as they gave good fight till the last over. Azaz Virani, Sohel Memon and Sarfaraz Halari shown wonderful batting skills and scored at a very good pace for the final chase. However, Mumbai Lions succeed in taking some important wickets in crucial overs which hampered their performance in last few overs. Team ended up scoring 158 runs in 20 overs after losing 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Atif Attarwala, who took 2 wickets in 4 overs.
It was a nail biting final till the end, where Dissotto Dynamites fell short of just 3 runs from winning against Mumbai Lions.
Player of the match was Ramiz Darvesh from Mumbai Lions.
