The 9th All India Defence Accounts Department Cricket Tournament was organized at Bengaluru between 18th Dec.’17 to 22nd Dec.’17.
8 teams from various centers of AIDAD participated in this tournament. The final of this much celebrated tournament was played between CDA Jabalpur (AIDAD) and CDA (AF) New Delhi (AIDAD) on 22nd Dec.’17 at RSI Ground- Bengaluru.
CDA Jabalpur (AIDAD) won the toss and elected to bat. Team played an excellent innings and ended up scoring 216 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. Opening batsmen Ashok Kumar Meena was on fire as he smashed 81 runs in 40 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Murtuza Ali also played a wonderful innings by scoring 70 runs in just 38 balls. Strong batting line helped CDA Jabalpur (AIDAD) put up a good target for the crucial final. Pick of the bowlers was Navdeep Gupta from CDA (AF) New Delhi (AIDAD), who took 2 wickets in 4 overs.
While replying, CDA (AF) New Delhi (AIDAD) did not get a good start as they lost some important wickets in early overs. However, team gave a good fight but failed to score at required pace. Highest scorer was Naman Sharma, who scored 60 runs in 30 balls. Mahendra Singh from CDA Jabalpur (AIDAD) bowled extremely well as he took 3 important wickets in 4 overs restring opponent from scoring well. CDA (AF) New Delhi (AIDAD) ended up scoring 165 runs at the end of 20 overs after losing 6 wickets.
CDA Jabalpur (AIDAD) won the final of 9th All India Defence Accounts Department Cricket Tournament by 51 runs against CDA (AF) New Delhi (AIDAD).
Ashok Kumar Meena from CDA Jabalpur (AIDAD) was awarded as the player of the match.
