One of the most cherished tournaments of Ahmedabad - Sahajanand Winter Cup-4 was organized between 31st Oct.’17 to 14th Dec.’17. 54 teams from different verticals participated in this tournament.
An interesting final of this tournament was held at SGVP Cricket Ground, Ahmedabad on 14th Dec.’17 between Saibaba XI (SGVP)and L K Star (SGVP).
Saibaba XI (SGVP) won the toss and elected to bat. Team failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Viral Desai’s quick 52 runs gave team the much needed boost while Saumil Patel too supported well from the other end as he added crucial 23 runs in 15 balls. Saibaba XI (SGVP) closed their innings at 103 runs in 12 overs by losing 8 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Arjun Jadeja from L K Star (SGVP), who took 2 wickets in 3 overs.
L K Star (SGVP) gave a good fight while chasing the target of 104 runs against Saibaba XI. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, players continued to add to the score steadily. The leading batsman was Deepak, who remained not out by making 40 runs in 28 balls. Howere, L K Star (SGVP) failed to score at required pace and ended up scoring 91 runs at the end of 12 overs after losing 6 wickets.
Saibaba XI (SGVP) won the final by 12 runs against L K Star (SGVP).
Player of the match was Viral Desai from Saibaba XI (SGVP).
