Amara Raja Foundation Day Cricket Tournament was organized at Tirupati between 22nd Oct.’17 to 10th Dec.’17.
Out of the 16 participant teams, the final of this much celebrated tournament was played between Tulip XL and PROTEA on 10th Dec.’17 at Agriculture College Ground, Raichur.
PROTEA won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Tulip XL played a wonderful innings and put up a good score of 156 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Highest scorers were Mahes and G Arul Kumar, who scored 65 and 31 runs at a good pace. Pick of the bowlers was S vijay, who took 2 wickets in 4 overs.
While replying, PROTEA did not manage to get a good start as wickets started to fall from early overs. Team failed to tackle the bowlers carefully and ended up scoring 106 runs in 17.1 overs by losing all wickets. Highest scorer was Giri with 34 runs. Bowling highlight of the innings was J Sarath Babu from Tulip XL, who took 3 wickets in 3 overs.
Tulip XL won Amara Raja Foundation Day Cricket Tournament 2017 defeating PROTEA by 50 runs.
Player of the match was G Arul Kumar from Tulip XL.
