Isro Center Sports League-2017 was organized between 4th Dec.’17 to 8th Dec.’17 at Ahmedabad. 14 teams from various departments participated in this 5 days tournament.
The crucial final of this much celebrated tournament was played on 8th Dec.’17 between 2 of the strongest teams - SHAR (Isro) and SAC (Isro) at Sabarmati Railway Ground, Ahmedabad.
SHAR (Isro) won the toss and elected to bat. Opening batsmen D.S. Raj and Umamaheshwar Rao gave team a good start by scoring at a good pace. Team continued to score well with Siva Kumar hitting 70 runs in just 33 balls with 4 boundaries and 5 sixes. SHAR (Isro) ended up scoring 185 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Ashish Jain from SAC (Isro), who took 2 wickets in 4 overs.
While replying, SAC (Isro) did not manage to perform well against the strong bowling attack from SHAR (Isro). Despite getting a good start, team failed to maintain the pace and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. SHAR (Isro) bowl SAC (Isro) out for just 128 runs in 19.4 overs. Highest scorers were Mehul and Jai Singla with 30 and 22 runs respectively. Bowling highlight of the innings was Anil Kumar from SHAR (Isro), who took 2 wickets in 2 overs.
SHAR (Isro) won Isro Center Sports League- 2017 by 57 runs defeating SAC (Isro) in the final.
Player of the match was Siva Kumar from SHAR (Isro), who was also awarded as the Player of the series.
