Karn Thakkar scored an important half century in the first innings while Yash Thakkar revelled in an allround show as CN Vidyalay outshone Anuj Joshi’s lone ranger act as they edged out Shardamandir VinayMandir (SMVM) by virtue of the first innings lead in under-14 HC Kapasi School Tournament. At Sardar Patel Stadium, Karn top scored with 82-ball 65 as CN posted 175 in the first innings after being asked to bat first. For SMVM, Anuj was the pick of the lot with five wickets. Yash then ran through the rivals to pick five wickets as CN bowled out their rivals for 97 to register the deciding 78-run first innings lead. For SMVM, Anuj waged a lone battle with 133-run 30. With the fate of the match decided, CN batted out the remaining overs posting 71 for three in the second essay. Yash top scored for 46- ball 35. For the losing side, Anuj took two wickets.
