Varun Bhandari picked 10 wickets in the match but a disappointing show with the bat saw Asia English School (AES) suffer a first innings loss against Diwan Ballubhai Madhyamik Shala (DBMS), Kankaria in multiday under-14 HC Kapasi School Tournament at Sardar Patel Stadium. Electing to bat, Vikas Patel top scored with 79-ball 42 while Ansh Yadav chipped in with 75-ball 39 as DBMS struggled to post 104 in the first innings. For AES, Varun rattled the rivals with five wickets while Vedant Trivedi chipped in with three more. However, all the hardwork done by AES bowlers went in the drain as their batsmen fell like pack of cards to concede deciding 15-run first innings lead. Rudra Patel offered lone resistance with 112-ball 24 as AES managed to post 89 in reply. For the winners, Atharva was the pick of the lot with four wickets as DBMS batsmen found the going tough. Dhiraj Jasodani too picked three wickets but it was too late as AES ran out of time.
