One of the most prestigious tournaments of The Telangana Cricket Association- Telangana Gold Cup- 2017 was organized between 27th Oct’ 17 to 30th Nov.’ 17 at Hyderabad.
32 teams from different cities participated in this tournament. Telangana Gold Cup- 2017 ended with a nail biting final played between Sangareddy Superstars (TCA) and Maheshwaram Challengers (TCA) on 30th Nov.’17 at L.B.Stadium, Hyderabad.
Maheshwaram Challengers (TCA) won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Sangareddy Superstars (TCA) played a good innings. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to add to the score steadily. Highest scorer was M. Mahesh Reddy with 44 runs. Sangareddy Superstars (TCA) closed their innings at the decent score of 143 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Ashrith Darapureddy from Maheshwaram Challengers (TCA), who took 2 wickets in 2 overs.
While replying, Maheshwaram Challengers (TCA) too gave a very good fight till the last over. However, despite their best efforts team fell short of 2 runs from the target. Maheshwaram Challengers (TCA) ended up scoring 141 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Captain Viswanath was the highest scorer with 40 runs in 34 balls. Bowling highlight of the innings was Yasar Arafath from Sangareddy Superstars (TCA), who took 3 wickets in 4 overs.
Sangareddy Superstars (TCA) won the final of Telangana Gold Cup- 2017 by 2 runs against Maheshwaram Challengers (TCA).
