Children Cup 2017 was organized at Rajamahendravaram between 23rd Nov.’17 to 27th Nov.’17.
13 teams from various schools participated in the tournament. The final of this tournament was played between Sri Prakash and Appm School Rajahmundry on 27th Nov.’17 at Arts College Ground, Rajamahendravaram.
Sri Prakash won the toss and elected to bat. Proving their decision right, team played a good innings and scored 140 runs at the end of 25 overs by losing 6 wickets. Captain Kunal Singh and B. Avinash, played really well and added 50 and 48 runs respectively at a good pace. Pick of the bowlers was T Durga Mallesh from Appm School Rajahmundry, who took 2 wickets in 5 overs.
While chasing, Appm School Rajahmundry did not get a very good start. None of the players except T Durga Mallesh(23) and B. Dinesh Srinivas(32) managed to score significantly. Team bundled up scoring 107 runs in 22.3 overs.Bowling highlight of the innings was K. Nageshwara Rao from Sri Prakash, who took 3 wickets in 5 overs.
Sri Prakash won the final of Children Cup 2017 by 33 runs against Appm School Rajahmundry.
Player of the match was Kunal Singh from Sri Prakash.
