The much celebrated tournament - SGVP Trophy 7 (U-15 All India School Cricket Tournament) was organized between 13th Oct.’17 to 23rd Nov.’17 at Ahmedabad.
14 teams from various schools participated in the tournament. The final was played between SGVP Junior XI and RDCA’s on 22nd -23rd Nov.’17 at SGVP Cricket Ground, Ahmedabad.
SGVP Junior XI won the toss and elected to bat. Team played a good innings and ended up scoring 197 runs at the end of first innings after losing all wickets. Aryan Patel and Vaibhav Bhati (c) were the highest scorers with 41 and 54 runs respectively. Pick of the bowlers was Bhagyaraj Chudasama from RDCA’s, who took 3 wickets in 15. 2 overs by giving 45 runs with 4 maiden overs.
While chasing the target, RDCA’s gave a very good fight as team ended up scoring 195 runs at the end of first innings. Team had a strong batting line up and almost all players added to the score steadily. Highest scorer was Parthiv Patel with 35 runs. Ved Patel from SGVP Junior XI bowled extremely well as he took 5 wickets in 23 overs by giving only 65 runs.
Match was drawn but SGVP Junior XI declared as winner on the basis on first innings lead.
