Cricket Mahakumbh was organised at Nashik between 17th Nov.’17 to 19th nov.’17.
17 teams from different verticals participated in this tournament. The final of Cricket Mahakumbh was played between Nashik Evershine XI and Kumbakonam on 19th Nov.’17 at Golf Ground, Nashik.
Nashik Evershine XI won the toss and elected to bat. Team had a very strong batting line up as almost all players scored well at a very good pace.With everyone contributing in the final score, Nashik Evershine XI ended up scoring 193 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was M Vasanth from Kumbakonam, who took 3 wickets in 5 overs.
While replying, Kumbakonam started to fumble from early overs. Opening batsman K Sureshpaul (wk) played a good innings and added 37 runs in just 18 balls. However, remaining players failed to maintain the pace and team kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Kumbakonam bundled up scoring 129 runs at the end of 14.3 overs after losing all the wickets. Vinod Kardile from Nashik Evershine XI bowled really well as he took 3 wickets in 2.4 overs.
Nashik Evershine XI won Cricket Mahakumbh by 64 runs against Kumbakonam.
