Ahmedabad was the centre of the cricket world yesterday as the final match of the Gujarat South Premier League took place between Vanniyar Kings XI and CUDDALORE KINGS Xl. The tournament was an epic display of talent and teamwork, but yesterday's final was a true masterclass.
CUDDALORE KINGS Xl won the toss and chose to field, but it was Vanniyar Kings XI who took the lead early on. With a score of 51 runs in just 7.5 overs, it looked like the Kings XI were going to be unstoppable. And while they slowed down a bit, their total score of 79/9 in 10 overs was still impressive, thanks in large part to Suresh Padiyachi (Tamil) who scored 33 runs.
CUDDALORE KINGS Xl started their innings with a lot of energy, but they just couldn't keep up with the Kings XI. Sachin Shukla scored only 1 run and Enai Mani was the highest scorer for the Kings Xl with 17 runs. When the match ended at 5:57 PM, CUDDALORE KINGS Xl had scored 46/4 in 10 overs, leaving the Vanniyar Kings XI with a 33-run victory.
Naresh Babu of Vanniyar Kings XI was named the Player of the Match, and it was a well-deserved honour. The team's captain, Aanad Vanniyar, led his team to victory with a brilliant display of leadership, and the rest of the players were equally impressive.
