Blazewell 170/7 in 20 overs (Achal 51, Ashwani 2/19, Rohan Rawat 2/21) beat Sparkle XI 146/9 in 20 overs (Nikhil Raina 32, Sunny Verma 3/17, Gagan Sodhi 3/27) by 24 runs.
As the second innings commenced, Sparkle XI were given the target of 171 runs to chase down. They had to have a decent start from their openers in order to succeed in the chase. Openers Nikhil Raina and Amandeep Singh came out to open the innings for Sparkle XI. Faizan came in to bowl the second over of the innings and he didn't disappoint his skipper as he dismissed Amandeep on duck. Soon, he grabbed Chetan Anand off his own bowling to give two early blows to the chasing side. Nikhil was going good before he also got out after contributing 32 runs. Sparkle XI were four down by the end of seven overs and they still needed 110 runs in the remaining 78 deliveries. Asif Ali and Sunny tried their best to make a recovery, they both had a partnership of 53 runs for the fifth wicket, but Blazewell bowlers didn't allowed them to bounce back and they restricted Sparkle XI for 146 runs. Sunny Verma and Gagan Sodhi bowled their heart out as they picked up three wickets each while Faizan scalped a couple and Achal also went on to take a wicket to his name. Due to the combined bowling effort from the Blazewell bowlers, Blazewell won the contest with a good margin of 24 runs.
Earlier, Sparkle XI won the toss and invited Blazewell to bat first. Blazewell lost one of their openers early in the first over when Anubhav Mehrotra was clean bowled off the bowling of Ashwani for a duck. Then, Ishneet Singh and Achal added a brilliant 74 runs for the second wicket, Achal played beautifully for his 51 runs in which he hit seven boundaries to go with three maximums. There were contributions from Vivek Malik(26), Yash Madan (11), Ashutosh (15) down the order but it was a quickfire unbeaten 25 from Gagan Sodhi whose cameo helped Blazewell take their final score to 170. Ashwani bowled a terrific spell of 2/19 in three overs while Rohan Rawat also picked up two wickets. Vikas Punia went expensive for 1/39 in four overs, Mukul and Harminder also grabbed a wicket each.
