Sparkle XI 253/6 in 20 overs (Vipul Sharma 109, Yugal Saini 53, Amit Talwar 3/37) beat Solitaires New-Delhi 141/8 in 20 overs (Sehaj 51, Sunny 2/24, Manni 2/26) by 112 runs.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sparkle XI didn't had a good start as they lost their opening batsmen by the end of third over. But then what followed was simply amazing, Vipul Sharma came out to bat at three and he just outplayed every bowler, he along with Yugal Saini had a partnership of 140 runs for the third wicket before the latter got dismissed after scoring 53 runs. Vipul Sharma continued the hammering and soon reached the triple-figure mark. He made a tremendous century in which he hit as many as 14 boundaries to go with six maximums. There was a momentum-shift at the later part of the innings but Manni again made his side bounce back as he delivered a 16 ball 46 cameo, he hit 4 fours and 4 sixes in his short stay at crease. From Solitaires New-Delhi, Amit Talwar grabbed three wickets while Astaad picked up two wickets. In the last four overs, Sparkle XI scored 63 runs and ended on 253/6.
Solitaires New-Delhi had to go with a required run-rate of 12.7 from the beginning in order to attain victory. On the contrary, they lost early wickets and never looked settled for the huge chase. They lost three wickets inside the powerplay itself, courtesy some disciplined bowling from Mukul and Chetan Sharma. Jimmy and Sehaj tried to make some recovery but keeping in mind the huge target, it became next to impossible for the chasing side to get even close to. Sehaj went on to score a half century. Manni, Sunny, Mukul, Chetan and Vikas were among the wickets. They made sure Solitaires New-Delhi did not get close to the target and helped Sparkle XI win the match by a gigantic margin of 112 runs.
This huge win will not only boost the NRR, but also will inject an element of self-belief inside Sparkle XI. It will definitely help them in the upcoming games.
