Sparkle XI 136/4 in 17.3 overs (Himanshu 68*, Jasneet Kohli 1/8) beat SS Sports Club 134/9 in 20 overs (Jitin Kumar 36, Ashwani 5/18, Himanshu Sharma 2/11)
Sparkle XI were given the target of 135 runs to chase down in 120 deliveries. Though, they lost their first three wickets very early but Himanshu made a decent recovery for his team, being unbeaten at 68. He paced his innings really well, faced 42 balls in which he hit 8 boundaries and 4 sixes. Kapil Punia and Vipul Sharma went out cheaply for scores of 5 and 0 while Chetan Anand remained unbeaten on 21. And in the eighteenth over, Sparkle XI won the match by six wickets. From the defending side, Vivek, Deepanshu, Sachin and Jasneet grabbed a wicket each.
Earlier, SS Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Deepanshu Phore batted beautifully for his 30 off 18, but he didn't get much support from the fellow batsmen. In fact, Sunil Godara, Nitin Choudhary and Rahul Mehra scored aggregate of four runs. Down the order, wicketkeeper Jitin Kumar and Mohit Khatri contributed 36 and 33 runs respectively. Talking about the bowling of Sparkle XI, Ashwani bowled exceptionally well for his excellent figures of 5/18 in his quota of four overs. Himanshu Sharma was also not very behind as he also scalped a couple of wickets for 11 runs. With courtesy of such a tremendous bowling performance, Sparkle XI were able to wrap up the first innings for a small 134 runs.
